Internship - Project Manager - Emissions Reduction and Use of Renewable Maritime Energy

YOUR ROLE
You will monitor the operational performance of the vessels currently chartered by the fleet, with a particular focus on their energy efficiency and compliance with regulations aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
In collaboration with shipowners, commercial lines and operational teams within the department and the group, you will play an active role in monitoring European environmental regulations that promote energy savings and the use of carbon-free energy in maritime activities.
Your mission will contribute effectively to achieving the ambitious goals of the UN, the EU and the CMA CGM group, which is to reduce the carbon footprint of shipping to Net Zero by 2050.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ?
- Monitor and analyse the regulatory performance of the chartered fleet (330 vessels), with a particular focus on their activities within the European scope (EU MRV – FUEL EU and EU ETS).
- Investigate CO2 emissions and the compliance balance of vessels entering the fleet, as well as those already present, and make projections for the entire calendar year.
- Compare the regulatory performance of vessels with the predictions established by the group.
- Identify areas for improvement in the decarbonisation of the energy used by ships and the adaptation of the group's compliance strategy.
- Contribute to compiling the performance and compliance status of ships with environmental regulations, for the attention of shipowners and department teams.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR ?
- You are currently enrolled in your final year of engineering school in the naval or maritime field and have a solid knowledge of commercial vessels.
- You are fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- You have a good knowledge of mathematics and are comfortable with analysing figures and data. You have an appetite for data and are proficient in Excel (data management, creating graphs, etc.).
- You have knowledge of and a strong interest in environmental issues related to global warming, particularly in terms of helping to reduce the carbon footprint of the shipping industry.
- You have knowledge of Excel, VBA, Python and other languages, which you will use to operate and develop analysis, monitoring and reporting tools.
- Your curiosity, initiative, independence and responsiveness will enable you to adapt easily to your tasks and this supportive team.
