MISSION:

 

Reporting to the Port Operations Manager, you lead the ship agency teams and act as the interface between the teams and the Port Operations Manager.

You ensure the smooth running of port calls and the handling of the various types of vessels by your team.

You ensure that procedures are properly applied and that internal rules are observed.

As the key point of contact for your team, you support employees throughout their onboarding and learning process and help resolve specific cases or difficulties encountered in their work.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

In this role, you plan the port calls scheduled for the week. You update the daily vessel schedule for distribution to all shipping lines and terminal operators. You serve as the main point of contact for the shipping lines and terminal when priorities are set for handling the various maritime services.

 

You prioritise operational flows, coordinate cargo handling and determine the operations required.

 

You manage operational incidents and provide appropriate solutions.

 

You are responsible for leading and supporting the teams, ensuring that procedures are correctly applied, training team members in the use of tools, and welcoming, training and integrating new employees.

 

You provide management with weekly and monthly activity statistics.

 

You may be required to travel within the port area(s) and, where necessary, work at night or on weekends in connection with vessel calls.

 

Lastly, you ensure compliance with the company’s applicable Quality, Security and Safety procedures.

 

PROFILE AND SKILLS:

 

With a qualification ranging from first-year undergraduate level to a Master’s degree in Transport and Logistics, you have solid operational experience and a sound knowledge of port-related activities, ideally gained in a ship agency role.

You are fully proficient in English and fluently in French and comfortable using standard office and IT tools.

Your strong interpersonal skills, organisational ability and attention to detail, together with your responsiveness, team spirit and leadership skills, will be key assets in successfully carrying out the responsibilities of this position.
