YOUR ROLE

 

Pulse is aimed at accelerating the decarbonization of the Group by investing in startups and industrial projects, as well as supporting internal projects.

As a member of PULSE, CMA CGM Energy Fund, you will be involved in deal flow management, participate in cross-functional studies in close collaboration with CMA CGM and its subsidiaries’ decarbonization experts to ensure that PULSE investments support a coherent global strategy and play a role in the Pulse portfolio management. You will also contribute to the active management of the PULSE portfolio, supporting portfolio monitoring, value creation initiatives, and the identification of strategic synergies between portfolio companies and CMA CGM Group entities.

 

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

 

  • Managing the deal flow of opportunities: collection, pre-analysis and filtering. It includes the activation and development of a network as well of external / internal partners to enhance our access to best opportunities
  • Assisting the team in the investment analysis phase: organizing and participatingto conference calls, reviewing business plans, reviewing information memorandums, conducting due diligence and drafting investment notes
  • Conducting studies across the various CMA CGM subsidies and departments to ensure that PULSE’s strategy is aligned with the overall Group decarbonation strategy
  • Facilitating PULSE portfolio monitoring, including responding to capital calls from indirect participations in which PULSE has invested (fund of fund), monitoring portfolio performance, identifying value creation opportunities, and fostering strategic and operational synergies between portfolio companies, internal projects, and CMA CGM Group business units

 

You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining internal reporting and tracking tools. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Ensuring consistency and accuracy of financial data across tools
  • Improving process efficiency through the implementation of digital solutions

 

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

 

  • Education: Bac+5 in HSE engineering, risk prevention or an equivalent field.
  • You are currently pursuing a Master's degree in energy, engineering or economics/finance. Ideally, you have experience leading and coordinating projects in an international context.
  • A first internship in corporate finance or investment would be a strong asset.
  • You are fluent in English and French, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. You have a strong command of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Thanks to your interpersonal and communication skills, you can effectively coordinate multiple stakeholders and drive projects forward.
  • Proactive, you draw on your listening skills, adaptability and ability to synthesize to deliver fast, high-quality work.
  • You have excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • Languages: Fluency in English and French is required.
  • Personal qualities: Curious, rigorous, agile and motivated, you enjoy teamwork and are open to other cultures.
