Senior Business Controller Energy

YOUR ROLE : 

 

As part of the Finance Department, and more specifically within the OPEX team, you will play a strategic role in monitoring and controlling the Group’s vessel fuel expenditures.

  • You will be a key player in the Group’s energy performance and its commitment to the energy transition.

  • You will collaborate with international teams in an ISO 9001-certified environment, ensuring high standards of quality and excellence.

  • Your analyses will directly influence strategic decisions related to the volatile commodity markets (oil, gas, carbon) and environmental challenges.

 

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO? 

 

As a Financial Controller within the Bunkering and Energy Transition Department, you will have a central and multifaceted role:

Analysis and Reporting

  • Ensure the reliability and completeness of financial data related to fuel expenditures.

  • Produce and analyze energy performance indicators for the Energy Department and Finance Department.

  • Monitor budget forecasts and performance throughout the year.

  • Support the hedging strategies proposed within the risk committee.

Strategy and Energy Transition

  • Assess the financial impact of energy transition initiatives and contribute to the development of innovative IT tools.

  • Provide valuable input during analyses and strategic discussions with top management.

Collaboration and Impact

  • Act as the primary point of contact for the CSR Department and commercial teams regarding energy-related environmental indicators.

  • Support Line Controllers with all requests related to fuel expenditures, including biofuels.

  • Conduct ad hoc, high-value-added studies for the Finance and Energy departments.

 

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? 

 

  • Engineering degree or equivalent.

  • Expertise in management control, accounting, and finance.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and VBA (automation of complex databases, development of advanced macros).

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience, including at least 3 years in management control.

  • Experience in energy markets.

  • Familiarity with PowerPoint and modern tools such as QlikSense and SharePoint.

  • Fluent in English.

  • Knowledge of commodity markets (oil, gas, carbon) and maritime environmental regulations is a plus.

  • Excellent analytical and synthesis skills.

  • Team spirit, proactivity, and curiosity.

  • Organizational adaptability and execution excellence.
