Temporary contract - Global Labor Relations Specialist - Maritime / Transport

YOUR ROLE:

 

As a member of the Labor Relations team within the Human Resources Department, you will provide expertise and advice to HR department heads and Human Resources managers on all issues relating to labor law.

 

 

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO? 

 

1. Individual HR Case Management

  • Manage the legal and administrative follow-up of individual HR cases: underperformance, unfitness for work, long-term absences, contract terminations, disciplinary measures, and return from sick leave.

  • Prepare the legal documentation required for HR decision-making (draft letters, analysis notes, tracking dashboards).

  • Participate in drafting and updating employment contracts and contract amendments.

  • Support the Crewing team in seafarers’ career follow-up (career interviews, briefings, debriefings, etc.).

2. Alert Management and Social Risk Prevention

  • Receive and monitor social alerts or reports (psychosocial risks, harassment, etc.).

  • Participate in internal investigations and in drafting investigation reports.

  • Contribute to the implementation of corrective or preventive action plans.

  • Maintain the alert register and propose awareness and prevention initiatives.

3. Collective Labor Relations Support

  • Participate in the preparation of meetings with employee representatives (summaries, supporting documents).

  • Take part in negotiation meetings and draft collective agreements.

  • Draft internal notes or meeting minutes.

  • Contribute to the dissemination of information arising from collective agreements or social decisions to Crew Managers.

  • Participate in CSE (Works Council) meetings on matters involving seafarers.

4. Legal Support and Monitoring

  • Conduct legal research and draft memos on labor and employment law topics.

  • Contribute to legal monitoring related to the French Labor Code, Transport Code, MLC 2006, collective bargaining agreements, and labor case law.

  • Update internal documentation (HR procedures, practical guides, toolkits).

  • Participate in legal awareness and training for Crewing, Training, and Payroll teams (presentations, summary sheets, internal FAQs).

  • Manage litigation cases in coordination with external legal counsel and oversee the implementation of decisions.

  • Act as a liaison with external stakeholders: Maritime Labor Inspectorate, Seafarers’ Medical Services, Armateurs de France, ENIM, etc.

5. Administrative Follow-Up and Reporting

  • Maintain tracking dashboards for individual procedures and ongoing litigation.

  • Ensure smooth information flow between Crewing, Payroll, and Social Affairs teams.

  • Contribute to the production of social HR indicators and reporting.

 

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

 

  • Master’s degree (5 years of higher education minimum), preferably in Labor / Employment Law.

  • A first professional experience is preferred.

  • Knowledge of the maritime sector is an asset.

  • Previous experience within a maritime company (freight transport, cruise industry, etc.) or in the transportation sector is highly valued.
