YOUR ROLE 

 

Reporting to the Head of Contracts within the “Contracts & Projects” Legal Department, you will act as a Contract Lawyer on the Group’s strategic international projects, notably covering intermodal, shipping & procurement, infrastructure & equipment, and energy activities.

As a business partner to operational teams, you will contribute to the structuring, negotiation, and legal securing of complex contracts involving significant financial, industrial, and operational stakes, in a demanding international environment.

 

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO? 

  • Draft, negotiate, and secure international commercial and industrial contracts, including:
    • Intermodal and logistics contracts
    • Shipping procurement and strategic sourcing agreements
    • Infrastructure and equipment contracts (construction, supply, maintenance)
    • Energy-related contracts (bunkering, offtake, energy transition projects)
  • Support business units (Operations, Procurement, Shipping, Energy, Projects, Technical) in structuring their contractual frameworks
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate legal, financial, and operational risks by proposing pragmatic and secure contractual solutions
  • Contribute to contract management knowledge (templates, clauses, best practices) and continuous process improvement
  • Participate in training and raising awareness among operational teams on contractual matters

You will build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders and actively contribute to the performance and risk management of the Group’s projects.

 

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? 

 

 

  • Master’s degree (Master 2) in Business Law / Contract Law / International Business Law
  • An LL.M. (US/UK) or a dual degree (business school / engineering) is a plus
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in contract law within:
    • A large international group
    • A legal department focused on projects / procurement / operations
    • Or a business law firm
  • Experience in negotiating international contracts and large-scale projects
  • Strong expertise in contract law and international contractual frameworks
  • Good understanding of the following environments:
    • Intermodal and logistics
    • Shipping procurement and complex sourcing
    • Infrastructure and industrial equipment
    • Energy (including energy transition)
  • Ability to manage long-term projects with significant financial commitments
  • Comfortable with digital tools and contract lifecycle management (CLM) platforms
  • Full professional proficiency in French and English (written and spoken, including drafting and negotiation)
  • Rigorous, autonomous, and able to prioritize
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills
  • Ability to handle complex and cross-functional topics
  • Analytical mindset, pragmatic, solution-oriented
  • Team player, adaptable, with a strong service mindset toward operational teams
