About the Role:

 

Reporting to: Chief Commercial Officer (Oceania)
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Work Location: WFH + South Wharf

 

The Reefer Care Manager is responsible for driving the commercial growth of CMA CGM reefer services, support key customers, provide technical reefer expertise, and coordinate reefer products across the cluster.

 

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Drive growth of high-value and specialty reefer shipments requiring special temperature control and technologies.
  • Lead Cold Treatment Programs and act as the entry point for Cold Treatment Guarantee claims from Australia.
  • Provide technical advice and support to customers, sales teams, and internal departments.
  • Deliver and manage specialized training for internal and external stakeholders on reefer operations and technologies.
  • Oversee Reefer VAS products, promote services, and target new customers to increase reefer volumes.
  • Support risk management and legal teams with technical input on claims, compliance, and operational protocols.
  • Coordinate post-harvest initiatives, intermodal activities, and liaise with authorities to ensure safe and compliant reefer cargo transport.

 

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • University degree (preferably maritime) with 5+ years experience in reefer machinery, operations, or marketing; shipping background is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Fluent in English and willing to travel regionally, including weekends if required.
  • Technical or engineering knowledge in mechanical, electrical, or refrigeration areas; high computer literacy, especially Excel and data analysis.
  • Results-oriented, self-starter with strong decision-making, problem-solving, and accountability.
  • Ability to manage service providers and operational personnel, work under pressure, and consistently meet deadlines.

  • New Zealand citizens planning to relocate permanently to Melbourne, Australia, are more than welcome to apply.
