About the Role:

 

Reporting to: Transport Officer 
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Work Location: Melbourne

 

As a Transport Officer, you will coordinate national road and rail container movements, ensuring transport orders are executed accurately and on time. You will work closely with internal teams, transport providers, and external stakeholders to support efficient operations and deliver a high level of service.

 

The role and responsibilities will include:

 

  • Coordinating national road and rail container transport movements using Group systems.
  • Raising, monitoring, and following up transport orders to ensure timely and accurate execution.
  • Liaising with transport providers, rail operators, terminals, and internal stakeholders.
  • Reviewing and processing transport invoices, ensuring accuracy prior to approval.
  • Responding to internal and external transport-related enquiries and providing operational support.
  • Identifying process improvements and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

 

To be successful in this role, you will need:

 

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management, or a relevant qualification/previous experience in transport, logistics, or intermodal operations (preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort using multiple systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong follow-up skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

 
To be eligible for this role, you must be an Australian citizen or a permanent resident.
