Trade Manager

Responsible for:

  • Manage  pricing team to ensure all necessary activities related to pricing policies, allocation management, expand book of business, perform periodical analysis of volume, revenue and contribution reports and develop corrective action plans to address deviations from budget.
  • Create and develop the annual budgets and business plans for the assigned service lanes.
  • Develop and maintain various key performance indicators and reports specific to the assigned scope of activity.
  • Maintain and update vessel/trade/service profiles as neededEnsure the Tradelanes are optimized in terms of allocation and contribution
  • Responsible for direct team supervision
  • Ensure pricing activities are performed in accordance with FMC rules and regulations at all times.
  • Perform periodical Trade related forecasts
  • Maintain direct customer contact with specific accounts and assist with the sales effort as needed
  • Oversee cargo flow activities at all times for the assigned Tradelanes
  • Work with the Bids Team and Line Management to ensure competitive pricing and timely responses.
  • Create, coordinate and disseminate pricing policies, action plans and push pull activities with the various departments involved.
  • Provide guidance and liaison with other departments in order to resolve service related issues
  • Undertake any other assignments as directed by the Trade Director, Sr. Management or Line Management team.
  • Assist with creative suggestions to reduce costs, improve P&L and secure new business.
  • Miscellaneous related duties or projects as assigned

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 4-6 years shipping industry experience required with 6-8 years’ general work experience required.
  • Broad Market knowledge required.
  • Keen analytical skills.
  • Ability to translate analysis to action plans.
  • Proven ability to manage people and work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment.
  • Advance working knowledge Excel required, (i.e. data manipulation, formulas, lookups, filters, pivot tables)
