Benefits Analyst

Position Summary
The Benefits Analyst will assist with the administration of a multi-state, comprehensive employee Health and Welfare benefits program to meet employee needs and align with business objectives. This position also assists in the administration of wellness programs and employee retirement savings plans.

Functions & Duties

•    Health and Welfare Plan and Wellness Program Administration    
•    Assist with benefits administration including enrollment, employee deductions, insurance billing reconciliation and payment and incentive programs.    
•    Delivers benefit presentations to employees.    
•    Assists with annual projects (Total Comp Statements, census reporting, renewals, budget projections).Generates benefits-related reports from HRIS and benefit vendors’ systems.    
•    Processes weekly HSA reimbursements.    
•    Resolves benefits-related administration questions or problems for employees, working closely with carriers to provide resolution and escalating issues as necessary.    
•    Responds to QDRO, QMSCO and other requests.    
•    Processes weekly HSA reimbursement for incentive programs.    
•    Processes Tuition Reimbursement applications and approval as needed.    
•    Assist with employee communication materials (annual enrollment, newsletters, and publications) to promote understanding.    
•    Assists with 401(k) and Pension Plan administration as needed.!!Leave Administration    
•    Works with third-party administrators, human resources team, and payroll to administer all disability, family, and medical leaves    
•    Communicates with management regarding employee’s leave approval and leave management instructions    
•    Assists with benefit premium payments for leave of absence employees. Monitors deductions in arrears in HRIS & Compliance    
•    Ensures company compliance with federal and state laws, including reporting requirements.    
•    Assists with annual health and welfare audits and for compiling and reporting annual required filings with the IRS and DOL.    
•    Provides employee and management training related to benefit policies and laws.    
•    Stay abreast of benefit related trends and legal and regulatory requirements and update plans and practices/policies accordingly.Maintains benefits and HIPPA records including enrollments, applications, and other documents required for all benefit plans. Ensures compliance with FMLA, ACA, Cobra and participant communication.    
•    Miscellaneous Related Duties or Projects as Assigned.    

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities  
•    Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws; knowledge of employee benefits programs, processes, and issues
•    Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
•    Working knowledge of FMLA, ERISA, HIPPA, ADA, and FLSA
•    Thorough knowledge and understating of ACA reporting requirements Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
•    Ability to monitor and assess performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action 
•    Ability to deal effectively with a variety of people and situations.
•    Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
•    Ability to work both independently as well as in a team partnership. Self-motivated and able to work with little direction; Ability to build strong relationships with employees, constituent organizations, brokers, and vendors!; Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
•    Ability to develop and deliver quality training and education to all levels of employees.
•    Proficient in MS Office products, especially advanced knowledge in Excel.
•    Attention to detail, organized and thorough with a desire for continuous process improvement
•    Ability to maintain a high degree of sensitivity and exercise discretion in regard to confidential material
•    Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy, and the ability to work well within a deadline driven environment.
•    Intuitive and sensitive to company requirements, balancing between cost effectiveness and employee attraction and retention trends.

Qualifications 

High School diploma or GED required  
Bachelor’s degree  preferred
3-5 years general Experience required
Minimum 2 years’ experience working in benefits administration required
HR Certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, CCP, CEBS) preferred

At CMA CGM, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The expected salary range for this position is $62,000 – $69,500 per year. The actual salary offered will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and location.

In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for:
