Position Summary
This position is responsible for reviewing Dangerous Goods (DG) booking requests entered into CMA’s internal system by GBS Mumbai against the documents received from customers. The role ensures all details are accurate, complete, and compliant with the International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code and U.S. 49CFR regulations.
This position serves as the primary contact for customers and internal departments regarding additional details or documents required. It also coordinates with the Dangerous Cargo Office (DCO) when a DG booking request is deemed complete and ready for review and approval.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Functions & Duties

Ensure accurate, complete, and timely review of requests for regulatory, vessel operator, and port compliance once DG details have been entered into the internal system by GBS.

Collect and review final Dangerous Goods Declarations and supporting documents (e.g., Safety Data Sheets) from customers and upload them to the dangerous cargo documentation platform as required.

Act as the key contact for customers and internal departments regarding hazardous cargo. Liaise with customers to obtain missing documents, resolve discrepancies, and address DG-related questions or issues.

Provide DG documentation to marine terminals as required.

Assist with alternate routing solutions when original routing is not feasible.

Send DG booking confirmations to customers upon DCO approval.

Confirm and validate final Dangerous Goods Declarations against the internal system for accuracy and compliance with IMDG and U.S. 49CFR regulations.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education

Required: High School Diploma or GED

Preferred: Associate’s Degree
Work Experience

General Experience: 1–3 years

Industry Experience: 1–3 years (Dangerous Goods experience preferred; e.g., shipper, warehouse, trucker)
Licenses/Certifications

Required: IMDG, IATA, and 49CFR certification
