Position Summary
The Director of Container Maintenance & Repair (M&R) is responsible for overseeing all container-related repair and maintenance activities within the CMA CGM America (CCA) geographical scope. This includes dry and reefer containers, gensets, chassis, and other moving assets. The role ensures adherence to CMA CGM Group guidelines while driving operational efficiency, cost control, supplier compliance, and service reliability to support commercial and customer needs.

 

Functions & Duties
•    Ensure strict adherence to CMA CGM Group and CCA guidelines governing M&R activities.    
•    Define and implement optimal repair strategies (including location selection) in coordination with HO M&R.    
•    Ensure recovery strategy execution in coordination with the HO Recovery team.    
•    Provide hands-on oversight of M&R activities to guarantee adequate and timely repair services to meet commercial demands.    
•    Manage, support, and animate the regional M&R agent network, including providing training and technical guidance.    
•    Deploy, communicate, and enforce technical standards, procedures, and digital tools (iMARS, iRecovery, Repair Advisor, BI).    
•    Lead process and tool implementation initiatives, including continuous improvement and corrective action projects.    
•    Monitor KPIs for M&R and recovery activities, proactively addressing deviations.    
•    Improve performance metrics including reduced out-of-service times, cost-per-unit efficiency, damaged unit evacuation, and unit recovery rates.    
•    Supervise and audit M&R suppliers and depots to ensure compliance with Group policies, repair standards, and best practices.    
•    Produce regional reporting for HO M&R and support consolidated Group reporting to senior management.    
•    Provide timely reports to the Agency ILS team and ensure accurate budget tracking (actual debits vs. pre-approved M&R reports).    
•    Oversee M&R budgets and ensure proper expense reporting by all M&R managers.    
•    Optimize container-related fees (Container Maintenance Charge/CTR32, Cleaning Fee/CTR33, Inspection Fee/FEE85, Seal Fee/SEA06) to balance non-recovery amounts.    
•    Validate allocation of charges to HO and confirm appropriate adjustments to flat-rate fees.
