Position Summary:
The Manager, Financial Operations & Performance manages administrative, financial, and operational activities for the finance NAM organization.

 

Functions & Duties:
•    Support the finance organization and decision making by serving as liaison with finance employees, directors, Senior Leadership Team and CFO regarding project updates, proposals, and planning
•    Actively support the finance teams and engage in presentations to the top management level
•    Identify training needs to upscale the finance team‘s skills.
•    Working closely with CEO, COO and CCO Chiefs of Staff
•    Developing relationships with all employees for increased efficiency and responsiveness of existing operations, and helping define new operational strategies
•    Work cross functionally to gather momentum and key data to drive projects forwards    
•    Finance project management and process improvements: 
•    Lead core finance projects to maximizing finance performance and processes.
•    Analyze & improve finance processes and KPIs, drive improvement initiatives
•    Serving as finance expert on collections, accounting, cost and revenue control as well as business performance. Handling inquiries, developing action plans, and assisting with preparation and dissemination of communications (Powerpoint presentations)    
•    Finance Business performance through analytics:
•    Through data analytics, build reports and establish improvement plans, in collaboration with the finance functional leaders, establishing indicators, structuring data sets, building performance dashboards, monitoring and challenging each functional team towards excellence.    

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: 
•    Strong financial background including accounting, cost and revenue control, collections and business performance management
•    Methodical and logical thinker with the ability to transform complex technical issues and ideas into simple and non-technical terms
•    Ability to quickly analyze data and take decisive action
•    Ability to prioritize and cope with high pressure on short notice
•    Attention to detail, and excellent analytical skills
•    Must be comfortable working with large amounts of data
•    Proactive attitude, team player, with good interpersonal and organizational skills
•    Continuous improvement and accountability on provided DATA sets
•    Proficient computer skills to include all Microsoft applications (MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Access, MS SQL)
•    Exceptional skills building various PowerPoint presentations in different formats.
•    Fluent in English, knowledge of French a plus. Comfortable in multicultural environments

 

Qualifications

  • Preferred: Master’s degree in finance, Business, Engineering, or a related field
  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Engineering, or a related field

Work Experience

  • General Experience (5–10 years):
    Data interpretation, process improvement, and project management
  • Industry Experience (1–3 years):
    Experience in consulting or auditing, along with knowledge of the shipping industry and a thorough understanding of container logistics and the operating environment
