Senior Equipment Coordinator

Position Summary
Responsible for confirming, monitoring, maintaining and releasing inventory levels in NA depots and Terminals. Works collaboratively with internal and external organizations to include customers, truck vendors and CCA business teams to ensure equipment is moved in an efficient and expedited manner from depots, terminal and rail ramps. Serve as the Equipment Coordinator technical expert providing guidance and assistance to other team members to resolve issues. Identifies and elevates problems or issues to management as needed. Work with leasing companies to maximize off hire and on hire NA program and maintain swap program with vendors and Ho logistic department. Updates processes and procedures as needed and provides functional training to all team members. Senior Equipment Coordinator is also responsible for managing and maintaining the Equipment Team mailbox to ensure team compliance with mailbox processes and procedures.
Functions & Duties
• Maintain inventory at needed levels in depots and terminals by comparing inventory and booking levels to ensure equipment can meet export demands. Aim to reduce the empty idle time throughout the coordinator’s region by communicating with depots and terminals, port operations departments, and m&r to keep a fluid inventory and minimize terminal storage.
• Maximize off-hire, on-hire, and swap program by communicating with leasing companies and HO Logistics to return and/ or pick up equipment from the depots and terminals to enhance logistical operations and target cost saving initiatives
• Seek and maintain cost savings initiatives by developing process improvements to increase productivity and maximize cost savings
• Serve as an Equipment Coordinator technical expert by providing coaching and training to team members on processes and procedures, and assisting with resolving operational issues, problems, and questions.
• Monitor and record operational issues affecting team members and communicate with supervisor and manager to resolve issues.
• Support management in the documenting and maintaining of departmental processes and procedures
• Serve as backup to supervisor for day to day functions.
• Review and ensure equipment footprint issues are sent to the correct coordinator and a response is provided within 24 hours
• Propose counts for vessel loadback including targeting idles, projected volumes, and damaged units and assist with preparation for vessel loadback and planning.

• General working knowledge of Equipment procedures
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Good attention to detail with good problem solving abilities
• Excellent analytical skills
• Proficient skills in MS Excel including pivot tables, v-lookups & graphing functions
• Proficient skills in MS Access including writing macros and code, debugging & general background knowledge
• Working knowledge of how to run SQL’s and macros with PL/ SQL Developer

At CMA CGM, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The expected salary range for this position is $65,000 per year. The actual salary offered will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and location.
