Sr Mgr, Procurement (Indirect)

The Sr. Manager of Corporate Services Procurement is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing and optimizing the procurement processes for corporate services within the North America organization. This position involves developing and executing procurement strategies, managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring cost-effective purchasing practices. With a primary focus on IT indirect procurement, this role will lead the sourcing and management of technology-related goods and services, including software, hardware, telecommunications, and IT service agreements, ensuring alignment with the organization's technology and business objectives. The Sr. Manager will collaborate cross-functionally with various departments to understand their procurement needs, identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements, and implement best practices to streamline procurement operations. They will participate in deploying SAP-Ariba, BVD, and other cross-functional initiatives. Additionally, this role will assist in all other areas of direct procurement, supporting the broader procurement team as needed to ensure continuity and effectiveness across all purchasing activities. This role also involves staying abreast of market trends, regulatory changes, and industry best practices to drive continuous improvement in procurement performance and contribute to the overall success of the organization. Strong leadership, strategic thinking, negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of procurement principles are essential for success in this role.

Functions & Duties

•    Manage the end-to-end procurement process for indirect services, from requisition to payment, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Promote supplier diversity initiatives and sustainable procurement practices.
•    Lead IT indirect procurement activities, including the sourcing, contracting, and management of technology-related services such as software licensing, hardware, cloud services, telecommunications, and managed IT services. Partner closely with the IT department to align procurement strategies with technology roadmaps and business needs.
•    
•    Identify, evaluate, and select vendors for indirect services, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships to ensure optimal terms, pricing, and service levels. Identify and mitigate procurement related risks, such a supply chain disruptions, contractual disputes, and compliance issues, to safeguard the organization’s interests.
•    Analyze spend data, identify cost-savings opportunities, and implement initiatives to reduce procurement costs and optimize total cost of ownership. 
•    Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, legal, and various business units, to understand their requirements, align procurement strategies with their needs, and ensure seamless execution of procurement activities. 
•    Develop and implement procurement strategies for indirect services that align with the organization’s goals and objectives. 
•    Establish key performance indicators (KPI’s), track performance metrics, and prepare regular reports to monitor procurement performance and communicate insight to stakeholders.
•    Assist in all other areas of indirect procurement as needed, supporting the broader procurement team to ensure consistency, compliance, and operational effectiveness across all purchasing categories.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

•    Familiarity with contract structures and application
•    Experience with vendor management activities including service development, rates, and impactful contract negotiations.
•    Experience in leading and driving change management across multiple entities. 
•    Strong written language skills
•    Confident presentation of self for in-person meetings and negotiations
•    Require proficiency of Excel for creation and manipulation of Excel spreadsheets including formulas and pivot tables.
•    Require working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint software for creation of documents. 
•    Require self-driven individual who can work unsupervised for extended periods of time. 
•    Must have ability to shift quickly from topic to topic and prioritize work based on deadlines and level of urgency.

•    Must be able to investigate and analyze an issue to determine correct course of action
•    Must be able to set priority of work on daily, weekly and monthly basis 
•    Staff management experience required
•    Knowledge of IT procurement practices, including software licensing models, SaaS agreements, hardware procurement and IT vendor management
•    Familiarity with IT industry market trends, emerging technologies, and common IT service delivery models to effectively evaluate and negotiate technology contracts
•    Negotiation experience required

At CMA CGM, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The expected salary range for this position is $95,922 - $122,284 per year. The actual salary offered will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and location.
