Position Summary
The Supervisor of DDSM Disputes will oversee and assist DDSM Analysts responsible for reviewing disputes to ensure current business processes and procedures are being followed. The supervisor will assist staff with dispute inquires for escalations. Ensures deadlines are met and reallocates workload as appropriate.Works with manager to establish service and quality standards and ensures these are met. Coaches team on meeting goals and prepares employee performance reviews. 

 

Functions & Duties
•    Perform and excel at all functions of a DDSM Analyst; review and research disputes received and ensure they are fixed accordingly following processes in place    
•    Serve as a first point of contact for Dispute Analysts when questions arise during daily work    
•    Assist with requests from internal departments and external customers for dispute escalation    
•    Ensure team members are meeting and maintaining established goals    
•    Ensure dispute reporting is completed and distributed accordingly    
•    Coach and mentor team members on regular basis by continuous engagement in day-to-day work and identifying opportunities for same.     
•    Acts as the deputy and backup to the Dispute Manager when absent. Able to perform all needed tasks and prepare all reports in their absence.     
•    Conduct annual performance reviews of Dispute Analysts    
•    MISCELLANEOUS RELATED DUTIES or PROJECTS AS ASSIGNED    

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities 
•    Understanding of Industry processes and standards as a whole
•    Familiarity with functions of various internal departments and how they pertain to disputes
•    Familiarity with the Federal Maritime Commission MC rules (FMC) and regulations and how it pertains to the work of the dispute team
•    Must possess a good understanding of Service contracts and the filed Tariffs, with the ability to interpret rate tariffs and agreements, bill of lading and shipping documents.
•    Comprehension of financial consequences involved in decision making 
•    Attention to detail
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities 
•    Good conflict resolution skills
•    Effectively work independently with minimum direction/supervision
•    Strong leadership, team building, people management skills
•    Strong time management and organization skills
•    Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) both internal and external customers
•    Strong systems acumen
•    Advanced knowledge of Excel i.e., data mining using pivot tables, formulas, etc. 
•    Proficiency in computer skills to include Microsoft applications. (Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Access, others)

At CMA CGM, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The expected salary range for this position is $69,000 - $74,000 per year. The actual salary offered will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and location.
