About the Role:

 

Reporting to: General Manager Papeete
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time (CDI – Contrat à Durée Indéterminée)
Work Location: Papeete, Tahiti, French Polynesia

 

We are seeking an experienced leader to manage export/import operations, customer service, and sales team performance in Papeete. You will lead a team of 5, drive business growth and act as deputy to the Agency General Manager.

 

The role and responsibilities will include:

 

  • Lead and support the Customer Care team, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
  • Oversee bookings, documentation, and cargo readiness processes to ensure timely and accurate execution.
  • Monitor KPIs, implement process improvements, and ensure compliance with SLA and industry standards.
  • Liaise with SSC, finance, shippers, and other internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain service levels.
  • Drive customer satisfaction, manage escalations, and ensure a high standard of service delivery.
  • Support sales targets by identifying business opportunities, managing customer relationships, and contributing to strategic planning.
  • Coach, develop, and assess team performance, ensuring ongoing capability and alignment with business goals.

 

To be successful in this role, you will need:

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Supply Chain or Logistics, with postgrad or professional certifications preferred.
  • Over 15 years’ experience in shipping and sales, including 5–7 years in senior sales or customer service roles.
  • Proven leadership skills with a strong focus on people management, change management, and team motivation.
  • Strong customer focus with excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and managing high-pressure, deadline-driven environments.
  • Skilled in setting up and improving operational processes, with strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Proficient in administrative tasks, computer systems, multitasking, and working independently.
  • Fluent in both French and English – written and spoken – to communicate effectively with local teams and international stakeholders.


Eligibility Requirements:

To apply for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

    • Hold the legal right to live and work in French Polynesia (e.g. French citizens or residents of French overseas territories such as New Caledonia or Réunion).
    • Être inscrit(e) ou éligible à l'inscription à la Caisse de Prévoyance Sociale (CPS).
    • Be physically based in French Polynesia; remote work from overseas is not permitted for this role.
