Port Agency Operations Senior Supervisor Netherlands Antilles
Vessel Operations Officer will assist in all Operations activities for St Maarten.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Collate daily position sheets received from Head Office for all vessels calling the Port of Philipsburg. Communicate same to the Terminals and ensure that the accurate information flows.
- Update the schedule with all vessels calling the Port of Philipsburg with ETA & ETD.
- Provide a global picture for at least a 5-day outlook and share it with the other departments and parties involved.
- All emails to be dealt with / responded within a timely manner.
- Provide Loading list for Full and Empty containers to the Planners, the Terminals and Cargo Flow for all vessels / services calling the Port of Philipsburg.
- Assist Cluster Operations Manager to ensure that the Plan – Arrival - Progress & Sailing reports are properly prepared and sent to the principals and next Ports using the PRS (Port Reporting System) within the timeframe stablished for this report KPI’s.
- Assist Cluster Operations Manager to ensure that the gangs are optimized in accordance with the stowage plan provided by the Vessel Planner. Also, recommend ways for improvement.
- Improve productivity and ensure the reduction of the idle time of our vessels on arrival and departure.
- Supervise the coordination with Port Authorities and Terminal for the requested work on our vessels (prior to their arrival).
- Oversee with the Port Agent and Terminals the ordering of gangs / cranes and communication call sequence using PRS (Port Reporting System).
- Ensure that cross check is completed on Discharge / Load lists and send them to the Documentation department, Logistics, Sales, and SSC.
- Prepare post reconciliation standardized reports for all vessel departing from Hispaniola Ports within the timeframe established for these reports KPI’s.
- Oversee with Port Agent the estimated departure time for the vessel and ensure that clearance and consignee mail / document are placed upon vessel for a quick sailing.
- Coordinate from end to end (entails but not limited to quotation / survey) the discharge or loading of Project Cargo (Break Bulks & Out-of- Gauge).
- Demonstrate support for team’s objective by actively assisting Cluster Operations Manager in developing, coordinating and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards. Also, to achieve initiatives (own, departments and agency).
- Provide relief/deputize for team members as needed.
Qualifications
- Student or graduated on International Business, Administration, Industrial Engineering, or any related Career.
- Previous Experience in the Maritime Industry.
- Knowledge of English (Advanced level)
- Availability for work 24/7 (According to the vessel demand).
- Availability to travel overseas.
- Ability for work under pressure.
- Teamwork Skills.
