Mission:

  • To manage the Operations, Logistics, Transshipment, Cargo Operations and M&R departments

Main responsibilities

  • Fully accountable to adequately manage in close coordination with the team
    • Vessel operations
    • Logistics and M&R
    • Transshipments
    • Cargo Operations
  • Process Improvement for Operations/Logistics/ Transshipment/Cargo Operations department.
    • Constantly improve methods and tools through application of Process Excellence principle.
  • Fully accountable for Operations and Logistics team management
    • Monitor that Ops Team ensure that any operation costs to have the necessary back emails e.g. crew change / surveyor nomination etc. attached when supplying invoice to accounts department to validate on the system.
    • To ensure equipment availability to meet import/export requirement with a constant concern of optimization of the container fleet within the country, in coordination with Sales and HO/RO Logistics
    • To manage and control Logistics and M&R expenses
    • To ensure that contracts with depots, trucking companies and any other logistics providers are re-negotiated on regular basis with the objective of constantly decreasing costs
    • To provide recommendations to management for service enhancement by setting evaluation parameters
    • To set and implement strategic policy that aims at maintaining and enhancing the performance in whole equipment flow. Not only from perspective in the logistic point of view, but also should be capable to stand on behalf of whole commercial benefits
    • To act in order to reduce then to maintain at limited level idle containers (full and empties) in Mauritius  
    • To monitor and ensure all logistics KPIs as set out by HO/RO are met as per the time frame set
