As part of its growth and development, CMA CGM Holland is looking for a Global Key Account Manager (GKAM) to join its Global Sales department, in the Commercial pillar. 


ABOUT THE ROLE

The GKAM is responsible for growing the business of Global Key Accounts in the Netherlands by developing and executing the account plans for each customer within the portfolio. The portfolio consists of maximum 3 to 4 large global accounts (BCO and/or International Freight Forwarders) and potential local touch point for a few GKAM’s from other regions. The GKAM reports to the Global Sales Manager in the Netherlands, but works closely with the vertical manager and trade managers in head offices.


The key responsibilities of the GKAM includes:

  1. Account Strategy and Value proposition
    • Develop a growth strategy and budget for each account with your Vertical Manager.
    • Monitor industry (transformation, evolution) and detect and develop business opportunities in the industry, with the support of the Head of Vertical.
    • Communicate internally on accounts’ evolutions with Top Management and contribute to value proposition ideas. 

  2. Business Development
    • Ultimately responsible for a portfolio of Strategic and Large customers on a Global level for all trades and brands.
    • Identifying the commercial opportunities and developing new business for the Group.
    • Responsible for building account plan for each customer within portfolio.
    • Plan and conduct commercial visits to promote all CMA CGM group services and products.
    • Develop strategic partnerships with customer, increase commercial network expertise and knowledge of this customer.
    • Enhance group competitive advantage through market feedback on rates, competition, and conditions.
    • Ultimately responsible for tender management with administrative support.
    • Relay pricing requests to GBS, relay other operational requests to Customer Care. 

  3. Performance Management and Customer Satisfaction
    • Ensure account performance, meeting customer awards and addressing market changes.
    • Identify and inform of any process improvements needed to improve customer satisfaction.
    • Coordinate with all internal stakeholders (legal, lines, customers care, agencies…) to secure the interest of the customer.
    • Communicate process improvements for customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
    • Achieve targets for all commercial KPIs in volume and revenues. 

  4. Leadership, Teamwork, Team Engagement, Communication
    • Animate a community of Local KAM (Regional KAM / country relay).
    • Responsible of top-to-top relationship and promotion of long-term strategy with internal stakeholders (lines, CCO, …) and transversal department (legal, credit, …).
    • Act as escalation point for operational challenges.
          

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • A senior sales professional with proven track record of targeting and pursuing large scale contracts, able to liaise with C level management
  • Proven Mastery in negotiations of contracts worth €100K+
  • Proven Mastery in influence without authority
  • High degree of decision quality and problem-solving skills
  • Customer focused and result-driven
  • Excellent communication skills (oral & written)
  • Proficient in use of MS Office software, preferable proficient in CRM system NOVA (based on Salesforce)


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Working experience 10+ years, in a commercial role – preferable within logistics
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree or proven similar working level
  • English language minimum C1 level
  • Dutch language minimum B2 – willing to advance to C1
