Due to long term absenteeism, we are looking for temporary extra staff to support our Short Sea Line Sales team, in the Commercial department.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Inside Sales Officer develops and manages a customer portfolio in a specified geographic area. The role focuses on driving business growth through proactive telesales activities, customer relationship management, and strategic account development across all trade lanes, including Value-Added Services (VAS), intermodal solutions, and cross-selling opportunities.

 

The key responsibilities of the Inside Sales Officer are divided as such:

 

  • Account Management
    • Manage and grow a portfolio of customer accounts across export, import, and cross-trade activities.
    • Conduct proactive sales activities via phone and digital sales channels to promote company services and increase revenue.
    • Execute sales plans in line with customer segmentation, trade strategies, and commercial objectives.
    • Define customer sales targets in coordination with Trade Management.
    • Identify market opportunities, follow up on sales leads, and develop new business.
    • Prepare and submit quotations, mini-bids, and tenders.
    • Utilize CRM tools effectively to monitor pipeline development, customer engagement, account performance, and overall sales progress
    • Handle customer inquiries and resolve commercial issues efficiently.
    • Coordinate and align with internal stakeholders across departments, providing regular feedback and ensuring engagement, collaboration, and customer-focused execution.
  • CGM-CGM+ (VAS) Selling
    • Sell Group products and services and Non-Maritime products (such as e-commerce, VAS, intermodal, CEVA) in compliance with the pricing policy
    • Create transparency on initiatives taken to drive the sales of these products
  • Finance
    • Strive to the highest degree of invoice accuracy and ensure that outstanding invoices are paid within agreed timeframe with customer
    • Manage that valid and updated credit agreements are in place at all times for those customers eligible for credit terms
    • Assist with dispute solving which is contract/quote/filing related
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting
    • Ensure update of commercial data in the information system
    • Monitor and follow up on customers performance by using data analytics
    • Create high quality sales call notes and file them in CRM
    • Report results, developments and sales activities on a regular basis to Sales Management
       

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Fluency in Dutch and English, French is a preference.
  • Knowledge of MS Office software, CRM software and relevant CMA-CGM systems.
  • Driver’s license
  • Good communication skills (oral & written)
  • Customer focused and result driven
  • Decision quality and problem solving skills
  • Strong negotiation skills, able to close sales
