Mission

The Equipment Logistics officer in the Logistics Team is responsible for maintaining inventory levels at depots and terminals to meet export demands, confirming and releasing equipment for customer use, reducing idle time by coordinating with various departments, managing off-hire and on-hire programs with leasing companies, and resolving customer issues efficiently. The role requires a high diploma, 1-3 years of experience, proficiency in Microsoft applications, strong communication skills, and availability to work outside the office, with a preference for candidates holding a bachelor’s degree, shipping industry knowledge, and logistics experience.

 

MAIN TASK

  • Maintain inventory at needed levels in depots and terminals by comparing inventory and booking levels to ensure equipment can meet export demands.
  • Perform equipment confirmation and release at depots and terminals by confirming in corresponding systems to ensure customers can pick up and return equipment for export bookings.
  • Aim to reduce the empty idle time throughout the coordinator’s region by communicating with depots and terminals, port operations departments, and m&r to keep a fluid inventory and minimize terminal storage.
  • Maximize off-hire and on-hire program by communicating with leasing companies and HO Logistics to return and/ or pick up equipment from the depots and terminals to enhance logistical operations and target cost saving initiatives. Rebill misuses of empty units returning to incorrect locations. Conversing with other shipping lines regarding subleasing of units.
  • Provide immediate problem resolution for internal and external customers by identifying the dilemma and strategizing a solution to ensure excellent customer service.

 

 Skill Sets / Education & Experience Requirements:

  • High Diploma or 1-3 years of general experience.
  • Proficient computer skills to include all basic Microsoft applications (excel, outlook, word)
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must be available to work out of office and have a driver license.
