Transport Planner Executive

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Order Planning & Transport Collaboration:

    • Collaborate closely with transporters on order planning, preparation, and scheduling.
    • Handle trucking operations issues, providing quick resolutions to minimize disruptions.
  2. Work Planning & Scheduling:

    • Develop and manage daily operational schedules to ensure timely delivery and fulfillment of orders.
    • Optimize resource allocation by coordinating effectively with drivers and transporters.
  3. Trucking Operations Management:

    • Oversee trucking operations, managing the planning and coordination with transporters and truck drivers.
    • Proactively address and resolve operational challenges to ensure uninterrupted service.
  4. System Management:

    • Provide accurate truck details for the Transport Assistant to upload into the Management Transportation System (MTMS).
    • Ensure the timely and correct input of data into the system for effective tracking and reporting.
  5. Delivery Planning & Coordination:

    • Collaborate with the logistics team and third-party logistics (3PL) providers to develop and implement delivery plans.
    • Ensure all orders are prepared and pre-loaded for the next day's delivery schedule.
  6. Order Fulfillment Management:

    • Ensure all scheduled orders are fulfilled on time and in accordance with delivery plans.
    • Work with the logistics team to maintain the accuracy of the Order Management System (OMS).
  7. Driver Communication:

    • Maintain clear and consistent communication with drivers regarding delivery requirements, and estimated time of arrival (ETA).
  8. Ad-hoc Movements:

    • Collaborate with the logistics team and 3PL providers to manage ad-hoc transport requests, ensuring smooth handling of urgent deliveries.
    • Provide flexible solutions for last-minute changes in logistics operations.
  9. Logistics Team Coordination:

    • Act as a key liaison between the logistics team and transporters to ensure smooth operational workflows.
    • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving any order management or logistics issues that arise.

Requirements:

  • Education: A diploma or degree in logistics, supply chain management, transportation, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • 3 to 4 years of experience in trucking operations, logistics coordination, or transportation management.
    • Strong understanding of order management systems and transportation management systems (TMS/MTMS).
  • Skills:
    • Excellent time-management skills.
    • Strong communication abilities for interacting with drivers, transporters, and logistics teams.
    • Proven problem-solving skills in a dynamic environment, with a focus on operational efficiency.
    • Attention to detail for inspections and system data management.
    • Proficiency in logistics software, MTMS, and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel).

Working Conditions:

  • This role may require occasional after-hours availability to address urgent operational issues.
  • The position involves both office-based work and regular engagement transporters, and logistics staff.
