Station Officer

Since 1978, our Group has been constantly growing and innovating to offer its customers increasingly efficient maritime, land, air, and logistics solutions. Driven by a strong desire to design ever more effective solutions to serve a world in motion, the Group launched CMA CGM AIR CARGO in 2021, thereby expanding its transport and logistics offering. It has also recently grown with the acquisition of the Belgian company "Air Belgium."

 

Already equipped with a fleet of 4 long-haul aircraft (1 A330F and 3 B777Fs), it will be further reinforced with eight Airbus A350Fs by 2027, making CMA CGM AIR CARGO the launch operator of this new aircraft. Moreover, thanks to support from a partner, AIR CARGO now operates on the transpacific route with two additional B777Fs that we own.

 

As part of its development, CMA CGM Air Cargo is looking for Station Officers for its Ground Operations Team, based in Shanghai-Pudong International Airport. Reporting to the Station Manager – Asia, the Station Officer is tasked with warehouse and ramp supervision activities for the flights operated for CMA CGM Air Cargo. During the first year of employment, the Station Officer is required to attend and pass an advanced level Loadmaster training and to become a fully certified CMA CGM Air Cargo Loadmaster.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. Monitor the daily performance of the Ground Service Providers in PVG, ensuring the continued delivery of high service standards.
  • Responsible for driving and improving freighter on-time performance (OTP) in a highly challenging environment by overseeing warehouse and ramp coordination and supervision tasks performed by the Ramp Handling Agents (RHAs) and Cargo Terminal Operators (CTO).
  • Ensure timely and accurate transmission of instructions related to flight processing and activity completion.
  • Make day-to-day operational decisions to manage and mitigate operational safety and security risks through effective evaluation and decision-making.

 

  1. Support the flight crew and the CMA CGM Air Cargo team with tasks related to the operation of freighter aircraft.
  • Collaborate with CCAC departments (OCC, Maintenance, Sales, Crewing, etc.) to ensure smooth operations.
  • Resolve operational issues such as delays and disruptions.

 

  1. Conduct daily/weekly inspections in the operational and administrative areas of service providers.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of services provided by the RHA and CTO to ensure compliance with CCAC standards.

 

  1. Provide information for the improvement of ground operations manuals and other documents
  • Identify and address service deficiencies promptly and effectively.

 

  1. Support and supervise the implementation of CMA CGM Air Cargo standards
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and enforce CCAC processes and procedures in coordination with the relevant CCAC team.
  • Liaise with RHA and CTO during the daily activities to maintain and enhance the quality of services provided by CCAC.
  • Oversee the delivery of services at designated stations in accordance with Standards Ground Handling Agreement (SGHAs), Service Sevel Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as monitored by CCAC tools.

 

  1. Contribute daily to the continuous improvement of the safety management system
  • Support the Station Manager in developing and implementing operational and supervision plans.
  • Follow up on safety, compliance, security, and service reports and implement corrective action plans (CAPA).
  • Propose and implement internal corrective actions.

 

  1. Other relevant tasks, according to the trainings and capabilities of the Station Officer.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to adapt to operational requirements and flight schedule changes.
  • Execute ad-hoc tasks as required to support various operational initiatives.

 

The duties may include occasional domestic travel.

The duties include the successful completion of the loadmaster certification process, after which the Station Officer can become Station Loadmaster.

 

 

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

 

  • Minimum 3 years of cargo or ramp operations experience with international airlines
  • Knowledge of ICAO and IATA standards
  • Language: English, ICAO 4 level, written & spoken is a must.
  • W&B Certificate (IATA level)
  • Minimum 6 months experience as a wide-body freighter Loadmaster is a must, including load planning, loading, issuing and signing flight documents.
  • Valid Dangerous Goods Certificate minimum level 7.6 (old category 10)
  • Clean criminal record
  • Knowledge of cargo warehouse procedures and requirements is an advantage
  • Knowledge of de/anti-icing procedures and requirements is an advantage
  • Knowledge of aviation security procedures and requirements is an advantage
