VIE - Business Developer Shipbuilding Supervision - Shangai

CMA Ships subsidiary brings together all the branches of activity dealing with managing the vessel fleet and its crew members. They have a wide range of responsibilities, crewing management, technical maintenance, supplying spare parts and consumables, developing and implementing new building projects, etc in China.

THE ROLE 


As part of a major international shipping group, our subsidiary delivers shipbuilding project management and on-site supervision services for complex new-building programs. Until now, these services have been dedicated to internal group clients. Through this VIE assignment, we aim to open a new phase of development by extending our expertise to selected external customers, primarily for projects executed in Asia.

 

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ? 


•    Evaluate the service portfolio of CMA Ships Newbuilding department
•    Conduct market analysis and identify commercial opportunities and clients
•    Define and develop a market entry strategy
•    The mission also includes promoting our value proposition, contributing to the visibility of our service offering, and building relationships with prospective customers and partners.

The VIE will also be expected to spend time in the field to gain a practical understanding of the technical environment, the products under construction, and the shipbuilding supervision profession.

Vision for the Role


This position is designed as a business development mission. Beyond generating leads, the successful candidate will help shape the foundations of a new external service line for the company and support its market visibility with a targeted and professional approach. Based in Shanghai, with regular travels, the VIE will work within an international and dynamic environment at the heart of a fast-evolving maritime industry marked by innovation, energy transition, and decarbonization challenges.

 

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR ? 

 

  • Master's degree in Business Development or equivalent
  • At least one international experience (academic or professional) 
  • A first experience in service selling, marketing, or business development
  •  Ideally a first exposure to business-to-business environments and an interest in technical or industrial services would be strong assets for success in this role.
  • Fluent in english both written and spoken
