Cargo Flow Supervisor (Regional, Transversal)

Role Overview
Responsible for managing the flows of containers in APAC with a strong focus on Group cargo connecting in transhipment ports in Asia. This role also oversees reefer containers connections and dwell time for Group cargo. This role is expected to be a focal point for long haul lines to coordinate for onwards connections with the feedering teams in order to best anticipate the capacity needs, optimal routings and recovery plans.
Success in this position requires the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast paced environment, manage expectations of multiple stakeholders, manage multiple deadlines, and apply strong analytical and decision making skills when responding to unplanned operational issues.
Key Responsibilities
Hub Management
- Coordinate with long-haul and short-sea Cargo Flow & Line Management teams to forecast and calibrate capacity requirements for the next 6–8 weeks.
- Issue alerts when short-term dwell time at transshipment ports is expected to exceed defined targets.
- Recommend immediate space allocation adjustments to meet urgent demands.
- Identify operational hot spots and underutilized corridors; collaborate with Line Management to balance cargo distribution.
- Optimize utilization of all feedering and wayporting options, including 3rd-party feeders (3PF).
- Ensure long-haul lines adhere to their allocations on second-leg services.
- Monitor origin loadings to align with connecting services and blank sailing programs, maintaining acceptable dwell times, with special focus on reefer cargo.
- Produce daily and weekly reports on dwell times, container stocks, and long-idle units across Asia.
- Manage and monitor Smart Connect System (PSA Singapore) performance and data.
Reefer Monitoring
- Track the dwell time of reefer containers transshipping in APAC.
- Ensure all reefer units receive onward connection within a 7‑day window.
- Work closely with Reefer APAC and Reefer HQ teams to escalate cases where misconnections may lead to extended transit times.
- Recommend the safest and most reliable routing options to safeguard cargo integrity.
- Generate weekly and monthly performance reports on reefer evacuation reliability.
Barge Cargo Flow
- Prepare daily booking reports, identify long-idle containers, investigate delays, and verify evacuation and transshipment plans.
- Coordinate with GBS TS and TS teams on final load lists, misconnection issues, and validation of 3PF cases (including VIP, hazardous, and reefer cargo).
- Collaborate with Planning and Operations to maximize barge utilization for both laden and empty units.
- Consult with Line Barge Management on potential barge diversions to Indonesia PODs to support large roll pools at Singapore PTS.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Extensive experience in cargo flow, shipping operations, network planning, or hub management.
- Strong understanding of the maritime industry and APAC logistics network dynamics.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (including Macros and VLOOKUP).
- Strong communication, analytical, and data interpretation skills.
- Deep understanding of feeder management KPIs and network operations.
- Ability to navigate operational tools and dashboards confidently.
- Strong strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities.
- Proven ability to drive operational improvements and structural change.
- Excellent cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management.
