Executive/ Senior Trade Executive (East/South Africa) - 6 months contractual

Role Overview
Drive commercial performance on Mozambique and South Africa products . Coordinating pricing strategies, managing allocations, and ensuring consistent application of Head Office guidelines across all trade activities.
Key Responsibilities
Pricing Coordination
- Support Head Office (HO) pricing teams in defining competitive rate levels for MOZ & SAF markets.
- Monitor market trends and competitors’ activities to assist in pricing recommendations.
- Ensure timely preparation and updates of tariffs, spot rates, and surcharges according to trade strategy.
- Maintain consistency in surcharge application across all corridors.
Allocation Management
- Assist in weekly tracking of slot allocations on key services (e.g., SHAKA, MOZEX) for MOZ & SAF ports.
- Monitor booking vs. allocation ratios and highlight potential capacity risks early.
- Coordinate with cargo flow teams to help optimize space utilization and reduce rollings.
- Support escalation of capacity constraints and contribute to reallocation solutions.
Commercial Support & Coordination
- Support sales teams with pricing inputs for tenders, RFQs, and key account queries.
- Provide basic market intelligence and trade insights to enhance commercial proposals.
- Coordinate with operations on service reliability matters impacting customer satisfaction.
- Maintain updated knowledge of port conditions, transit times, service routings, and market developments for MOZ & SAF.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, International Trade or equivalent
- 3–5 years in container shipping (commercial, trade or cargo flow)
- Understanding of pricing mechanisms and slot allocation processes
- Experience interfacing with Head Office trade / line management teams
- Proficient in Excel and operational shipping tools (CRM, booking systems)
