Role Overview
We are looking for a Head of Financial Control & Accounting, APAC to lead financial control, accounting and reporting across the region from our Singapore Regional Office. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, APAC, this role acts as a principal finance partner to the APAC CFO and senior management, driving disciplined closing, robust controls and consistent accounting practices across a complex, multi-entity organization, while also contributing to broader regional finance improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and oversee regional accounting and closing governance across APAC entities, including monthly reporting, consolidation, statutory accounts, audits and intercompany reconciliation.
- Ensure consistent application of Group accounting policies and applicable standards, with clear documentation and timely resolution of complex accounting issues.
- Oversee accounting and reporting for Singapore entities.
- Define and monitor the regional financial-control framework, including risk assessments, control testing and remediation plans.
- Partner with Internal Audit, Compliance, Tax, Treasury, Legal and Country CFOs to address control deficiencies and regulatory risks.
- Contribute to the APAC finance transformation agenda
- Provide the APAC CFO and senior management with clear analysis, scenario assessment, recommendations and early warning on financial, accounting and operational risks.
- Chair regional finance governance forums with Country CFOs and represent the function in management meetings.
- Lead or support finance workstreams for M&A, integrations, legal-entity changes, financing and other strategic initiatives.
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing, finance organization spanning Financial Control, SG&A Control, and Group Consolidation & Reporting.
What We’re Looking For
- Master's degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related discipline.
- Recognized professional accounting qualification (CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent).
- At least 15 years of progressive finance experience, ideally combining external audit with senior corporate roles in a large, complex international group.
- Deep expertise in IFRS/GAAP, consolidation, statutory reporting, audit, internal control and complex accounting judgements.
- Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary, multi-location teams and senior managers in a matrix organization.
- Demonstrated success leading complex finance projects and operating-model change across countries, GBS and Shared Service Centres.
- Strong executive presence and influencing skills, with the ability to advise CFOs and senior management and translate technical topics into decisions.
- Excellent project governance, problem-solving, analytical, communication and stakeholder-management capabilities.
- Strong command of finance systems, data and reporting tools.
- Willingness to travel across APAC as required.
