Senior Area Manager, Transpacific

Role Summary:

You will be reporting to the Trade Manager for Transpacific Trade and be responsible for the following:
Key Responsibilities:
50% - Internal booking management / release system
- Running monthly allocation process and executing
- Ensure allocations are adjusted to vessels’ profiles
- Coordinate across different departments (both in Head office and Singapore Regional Office) to ensure data are updated accurately
- Be the liaison on behalf of Trade team to work with Business process/IT support in rectifying process/technical issues in allocation system
50% - Management reporting
- Analyse Transpacific Eastbound vessel performance, loading factors, daily positions, NOR performance, customer profile (including FOB/CIF; Fixed/Floating ratios) and allocation prepared by the Head Office, and take necessary actions to achieve maximum yield.
- Research economic and shipping outlook, keep track of market demand and supply dynamics, and prepare presentation files for management upon request.
- Maintenance of Trade report dashboards on Qliksense platform. This dashboard is used to monitor and analyse weekly vessel profile and actual performance, as well as top accounts’ weekly loadings across different gateways. Regular review of data on the platform, to ensure data integrity. Prepare trade specific documents for IT to map into backend database.
- Work with various trade stakeholders to improve or create new reports on the Qliksense platform as part of Trade’s automation KPI.
What We’re Looking For:
- Tertiary education or above, preferably in shipping, logistics management or business administration;
- Around 2 years of relevant reporting experience in the maritime industry
- Proficient in Excel, such as Vlookup & Pivot table is mandatory
- Proficient in handling:
- Power query (mandatory)
- Excel Macro - VBA coding (mandatory)
- Qliksense - or similar Dashboard creating tools like PowerBI or Tableau (mandatory)
- PowerAutomate
- IT savvy and having experience with Data presentation & visualisation is an added value
- Good market knowledge;
- Attention to details;
- Strong communication skills
