Trade Manager

Role Overview
You will drive trade development from Southeast Asia (SEA) to the Middle East Gulf (MEG) on the Westbound lane, while monitoring and reporting on Eastbound performance. Reporting to the Commercial Line Manager, you will support the achievement of overall commercial and trade objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Gather and interpret market intelligence, leveraging data analysis to develop and refine pricing strategies.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities, proactively adjusting pricing in alignment with management guidelines.
  • Manage all pricing and rate enquiries from agencies for the Southeast Asia–Middle East Gulf trade lane.
  • Drive initiatives to optimise revenue, profitability, and vessel utilisation.
  • Analyse weekly performance, prepare forecasts, and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
  • Drive agency sales performance to achieve volume targets and budget objectives.
  • Set and manage origin port allocations (COA) and country/customer sales targets (CSA) in line with the approved budget.
  • Oversee pricing and marketing systems to ensure data accuracy and commercial effectiveness.
  • Contribute to the annual budgeting process and trade planning activities.
  • Represent the trade in weekly SEA network performance calls and discussions.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a commercial or trade role within the shipping industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Maritime, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Proficient in data analysis and translating insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
