YOUR ROLE
Our growing Customs team based in Felixstowe are looking for an experienced Customs Coordinator to support with customs clearances for our Air, Ocean, and Road Freight customers.
The role will be on a rotational shift basis of two weeks of earlies (6:00am to 2:30pm), two weeks of lates (12:30pm-8:30pm) and one in every four Saturdays with a day off in Lieu.
You will also have the opportunity to build on your knowledge through the UK Customs Academy! We’ll put you through your Level 2 UK customs academy level 2.
This role can also be based in Aberdeen.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Reporting into the Customs Team Leader, you will work alongside your colleagues to ensure all customs clearances are actioned on goods departing the UK.
Using internal systems, you will process export declarations, ensuring a high level of attention to detail and that the accuracy is maintained to prevent any errors or oversights on documentation.
You will also be responsible for identifying inefficiencies in existing processes and driving continuous improvements to boost productivity.
Additionally, you will foster strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
You will have the opportunity to participate in Customs related projects and support with creating innovative solutions and share best practices and knowledge.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Our ideal candidate will need to have experience working in a Export Customs role or similar and have knowledge in HM Revenue & customs. You’ll need to understand and implement best practice within your role to ensure compliance is maintained, being proactive and efficient in your communication with customers, and be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
