Field Sales Representative - Ground Transport | Orchard Hills NSW

YOUR ROLE


The newly created position of Field Sales Representative (based at Orchard Hills NSW) is designed to maximise efficiency and profitability in a high-growth market. You will play a crucial role in identifying and converting opportunities to fill empty runs and grow transactional business. By targeting and securing short-term, fast-moving accounts, you will help maximise fleet efficiency, reduce operational waste, and boost profitability.


The Field Sales Representative will report directly to the NSW State Transport Manager (STM), ensuring close collaboration and accountability. A dotted line to the Senior Transport BDM provides additional support and ensures alignment with national strategy. This structure reinforces CEVA’s commitment to fostering shared responsibility and delivering operational success.


WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?


Specifically, you will:

 

  • IIdentify backhaul opportunities: Proactively source and sign up new customers to fill empty runs, driving better route utilisation and profitability.
  • Secure transactional sales: Focus on building and managing a portfolio of short-term, on-demand accounts, delivering quick-win business results.
  • Collaborate with transport leadership: Work with the State Manager to align sales activities with operational capabilities, ensuring a seamless customer experience.
  • Implement standard proposals and onboarding: Present consistent pricing and proposals, while ensuring new customers integrate smoothly into existing operations.
  • Drive disciplined sales growth: Maintain a structured sales pipeline, regularly reviewing performance metrics to refine strategies and maximise revenue.


WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? 


Our ideal candidate has proven experience in sales within the transport sector (last-mile a bonus), as well as strong collaboration and influencing skills. You should also have:

 

  • Strong commercial acumen: Ability to spot opportunities for backhauls and transactional deals, and turn them into revenue
  • Data-driven mindset: Confident using metrics to refine sales strategies and assess operational fit
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills: Able to communicate clearly and persuasively with diverse customer groups
  • CRM proficiency: Comfortable managing a transactional sales pipeline, including fast-paced account onboarding
  • Own vehicle and ability to travel (60-70%) within Greater Sydney. We reimbursement kms.


In addition to providing proof of work rights and suitable professional referees, progressed candidates will be required to undergo a medical assessment and national police check.
