主な業務内容
- コンテナの品質・安全レベルの維持・改善の施策企画・推進
- ゲートやデポでのコンテナ検査・修理要否や受入可否の判断・修理費用回収の管理
- 修理会社・デポ・ターミナルとの連携による品質確保とコストコントロール
- コンテナの状態に関する情報をタイムリーかつ分かりやすくセールスチームへ共有し、営業・顧客対応・意思決定を支援する
- デポ・ターミナルでの実地監査を実施し、修理品質・安全性・リードタイムが基準に沿っているかを検証する
- 損傷原因の調査および再発防止策の立案・実行

Container Fleet Maintenance and Repair Senior Specialist - Japan
Join CMA CGM JAPAN K.K., a global leader in container shipping and fleet management, as a Container Fleet Maintenance and Repair Senior Specialist. This key position within the Container Fleet Management division and Container Administration department is integral to ensuring the quality, reliability, and longevity of our container fleet, which supports over 200 shipping routes worldwide.
As a Senior Specialist, you will report directly to the Container Repair Manager and hold a pivotal role in maintaining the operational excellence of our container assets. This position demands a thorough understanding of container maintenance, repair processes, and cost control, all while maintaining strict adherence to safety and quality standards.
Your Role and Responsibilities
- Lead and drive initiatives to maintain and continuously improve the quality and safety of the container fleet according to CMA CGM’s stringent quality criteria.
- Conduct expert inspections and troubleshooting at gates and depots, making informed decisions on acceptance or rejection of containers with damage, ensuring optimal recovery of repair costs as applicable.
- Manage container repair and maintenance budgets effectively by collaborating closely with repair companies, depots, and terminals to balance cost efficiency with uncompromised quality and safety.
- Provide timely and detailed feedback regarding container conditions to commercial teams to support their operations, customer service, and strategic decision-making.
- Perform comprehensive physical audits at depots and terminals to verify the quality, safety, and timeliness of repairs, ensuring consistent and standard-compliant maintenance practices.
- Investigate container damage incidents by liaising with stakeholders across origin and destination countries; identify root causes and recommend corrective measures to prevent future occurrences.
- Develop clear, detailed instructions and guidelines for container repair processes, ensuring uniformity and adherence to quality standards across depots, terminals, and external repair contractors.
- Engage in continuous improvement programmes by analyzing repair workflows, adopting industry best practices, and proposing process optimisations that enhance operational efficiency and service quality.
- Support training and development initiatives for operational staff and partners to enhance inspection, repair, and maintenance capabilities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and emerging technologies related to container maintenance and logistics to keep CMA CGM at the forefront of container fleet management.

Must-Have Skills and Qualifications
- Fluency in spoken and written Japanese, coupled with strong English communication skills to effectively interact with customers and internal teams.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other IT tools, with capability to analyse data sets and produce actionable reports and insights.
- Strong interpersonal skills including anticipation, responsiveness, curiosity, and problem-solving abilities to manage daily operational challenges efficiently.
- Robust management and negotiation skills essential for liaising and collaborating with repair companies, depots, and terminals, with a proven record of cost control within allocated budgets.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a systematic approach to quality assurance and compliance monitoring.
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate degree in International Trade, Transport, Logistics, Engineering, Econometrics, or related disciplines.
- Relevant professional experience within operations or logistics sectors, particularly with container fleet management or shipping operations.
- Familiarity with maritime and container shipping industry standards, regulations, and maintenance best practices.
