Position Overview

The Ground Domestic Specialist I plays a crucial role in the successful operation and administration of ground transportation services. This position is responsible for coordinating, managing, and executing domestic land product services in strict compliance with internal procedures and standards to meet and exceed client requirements. As part of the Operations Division, you will be instrumental in ensuring that logistics processes support the seamless movement of goods while maintaining financial and operational controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordination and Scheduling: Organize, program, and monitor domestic and international land shipments, ensuring timely and efficient transportation across all zones.
• Administrative and Financial Control: Manage the entire lifecycle of transport operations from collecting service documentation to invoicing clients and processing payments for suppliers, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Supply Chain Support: Assist in guaranteeing adherence to client supply chain and transportation protocols, contributing to continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
• Financial Oversight: Monitor the financial performance of assigned clients’ operations to ensure profitability and cost-effectiveness.
• Documentation Management: Review, complete, and process various transportation and logistics documents and databases to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
• Problem Investigation and Resolution: Provide support in researching and developing recommendations to resolve transportation and logistics challenges effectively.
• Policy Implementation Assistance: Support the review and application of transportation and logistics policies, practices, and programs that align with organizational and administrative goals.
• Additional Duties: Undertake all other related activities as assigned, contributing flexibly to the department’s objectives.

Reporting Structure

This position reports directly to the Ground Operations Supervisor and operates without direct or dotted-line reports.

Work Relationships

The Ground Domestic Specialist I will collaborate with diverse internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring cohesive operations and communication across the organization.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Completed high school education is required. A bachelor's degree in Logistics and Transportation, International Business, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience: At least one year of practical experience in land transportation and logistics operations, demonstrating familiarity with national and international freight regulations and service provider management.
• Technical Knowledge: Practical understanding of land logistics, government regulations, provider capabilities including different transport units, documentation control, and applicable traffic regulations for various transport modes.
• Language Skills: Intermediate proficiency in English is necessary to communicate effectively with international partners and understand relevant documentation.
• Core Competencies: Strong customer service orientation, diligent follow-up on tasks, client-focused attitude, punctuality, and a high degree of responsibility are essential for success in this role.
