YOUR ROLE
Our dynamic 4PL Lead Logistics team based in Ashby de la Zouch has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and customer focused Operations Coordinator where you will oversee daily 4PL operations via air, ocean, and ground transportation, managing all communications with customers, global suppliers and 3PL providers via telephone and email.
This role is offering a salary of £28,000 per annum working Monday to Friday working a rotating shift of 8am-4:30pm and 9am-5:30pm. The role offers hybrid working which would be 3 days in the office, 2 days at home, please be aware that through initial training you will be expected to be on site Monday to Friday.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Reporting into the 4PL Operations Supervisor you will:
- Coordinate and manage transport bookings in response to client requests.
- Enter and maintain shipment data to support non-standard or manual transport requests.
- Communicate with third-party logistics providers to arrange suitable transportation solutions.
- Collaborate with local logistics teams to manage bookings and track shipments.
- Ensure all logistics partners follow agreed collection and delivery procedures and update shipment milestones accordingly.
- Tender shipments to approved transport providers in line with business guidelines using relevant platforms.
- Handle customer queries and proactively resolve any transport-related issues.
- Monitor shipment progress and ensure accurate milestone updates across various systems.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Our ideal candidate will have proven coordination, administration and customer service experience ideally within a logistics and supply chain environment. You will be a strong communicator (via telephone and email) with the ability to form relationships internally and externally, possess excellent customer service skills, be a logical thinker and natural problem solver who can prioritise their own workload with efficiency and accuracy. You will also have excellent IT skills capable of utilising internal systems and MS packages such as Outlook and Excel.
It would be desirable, however not essential if you have proven control tower, 4PL, or 3PL experience.
