ABOUT THE ROLE

The main role of the Cargo Readiness Import Officer is to ensure that the carrier haulage import containers are planned in a correct and timely manner and delivered as per the customer request. the final delivery needs to be in lign with all Group processes and requirements as well as with local customs regulations.                            

                            

The key responsibilities of the Cargo Readiness Officer are divided as such :                    

  • Manage carrier haulage import:
  • Identify import shipments that require final delivery performed by CMA CGM
  • Pro-active follow up of incoming carrier haulage shipments prior vessel arrival
  • Coordinate with the customer and ILS for transport feasibility in line with the customer needs
  • Update LARA with all required details for transport order creation by IS
  • Perform import release activities for carrier haulage bookings in accordance to the Group processes and requirements
  • Follow up customs requirements prior delivery
  • Request customs document (T1) upon customer request


Manage Contingency Events:

  • Coordinate with related internal teams and follow up to ensure Resolution for customer last minute problems.
  • Manage all activities caused due to operational contingencies.


SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES                               

  • Strong knowledge in Shipping Industry (minimum 5 years of experience)
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Excellent communication & commercial skills
  • Risk detection and prevention
  • Knowledge of commercial policy and offers
  • Knowledge of dangerous / special cargo or commodity
  • Knowledge of port / country regulations, the legal and/or regulatory frame
