As part of its growth and development, CMA CGM Belgium is looking for a Transport Supervisor to join its Transport&Procurement team within the ILS department.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Transport Supervisor has a dual role. On one hand the Supervisor role focuses on Team leadership and development, on the other hand you are organising inland transport assignments with the best possible efficiency and use of available resources, taking into account priorities and constraints, in such a way that all parties involved are satisfied.
The key responsibilities of the Transport Supervisor are divided as such :
- Lead, train and supervise the team to meet customer expectations.
- Set clear operational goals and objectives for the team.
- Provide coaching, mentoring and training to develop the team skills/competencies.

You are the contact person for the various transport partners along one side and along the other side for the various import and export departments of our own regional or back office departments.

You are responsible for a certain customer portfolio

You follow up on scheduled transports and solve problems that may occur during transport. You react adequately in case of anomalies.

You carry out periodic checks on certain flows. (check closings, COT, etc...)

You take commercial decisions with a view to direct operational matters You make operational agreements with carriers

You adjust the planning where necessary

You are responsible for ensuring that all transports are carried out on time

You are responsible for the daily planning

You are responsible for the operational agreements with your carriers

You are responsible for correct communication with internal and external stakeholders
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Experience with managing a small team

You know the most suitable carrier in your region for certain transports

You know your supplier's strengths/weaknesses

You take customer requirements into account and follow them up
-
You already have 3 to 5 years of experience as a dispatcher and know different ‘regions’ within the CMA CGM set-up

You know the planning/manner of planning of all teams and can jump in where necessary

Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English with knowledge of the professional language, both oral and written. Knowledge of French and German is a plus.

Extensive knowledge of maritime transport (terminology, modes of transport, geographical knowledge, type of containers, product knowledge)

Extensive knowledge of maritime, commercial and customs documents

Ability to work with current technology and most current software
