Cargo Readiness Officer

About the role:

 

A fantastic permanent role has become available in our Customer Care team for an enthusiastic individual to join our team in Auckland as the ‘Cargo Readiness Representative’. Reporting to the Cargo Readiness Team Leader, the main responsibilities of the Cargo Readiness Representative include:

 

  • Effective management and control across the export cargo cycle and ensure clients adhere to deadlines and deliver cargo on time
  • Monitor bookings on trade vessels departing New Zealand to ensure maximum utilisation of space
  • To be alert to vessel schedule changes or port rotation changes and proactively find carriage solutions which meet our customer demand
  • Liaison with customer to clear the customer electronic delivery order prior to cargo export/ loading to vessel

 

 

To be successful in this role, you MUST have:

  • Previous experience in shipping or logistics environment
  • Knowledge of terminal / transport operations • Previous Customer Service experience, preferably in the Shipping/Freight forwarding industry
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to foster relationships with customers
  • High level Microsoft Excel skills
