We are looking for a Customs Agent in our office in Barcelona reporting to our Customs Manager.
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Customs Agent (f/m/d) with a proactive approach to problem-solving. In this critical role, you will be responsible for mitigating risks, preventing penalties, and ensuring the accurate and timely submission of customs requirements and declarations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Submit import/export customs declarations, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Submit formal requests to customs authorities, clearly and structured using professional language.
- Analize sanctions received, prepare and submit formal appeals to customs in a structured, clear, and professional manner.
- Verify that all submitted and received documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with relevant regulations.
- Maintain proactive and clear communication with internal and external customers to gather any missing documentation, resolve discrepancies, and ensure the accuracy of data.
- Regularly update the customs incident report, offering an overview of risk exposure, and contribute to the ongoing maintenance of the company's AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) certification.

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, particularly in drafting formal correspondence and documents for customs authorities with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Analytical and Critical Thinking to assess situations, solve problems, and make sound decisions.
REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:
- Fluent English (C1 level), both spoken and written.
- Fluent Spanish (C1 level), both spoken and written.
- Educational background: master’s degree or equivalent, professional education in shipping, customs or similar.
