Position Summary:
This position is responsible for the day-to-day operational activities at the depot to assure container and chassis handling and related activities are accomplished in an efficient and safe manner. Direct and manage the department staff to efficiently perform data integrity and container and chassis movements. Ensures the timely delivery of daily service requirements to customers. Instruct and supervise team of the gate, yard personnel and on-site vendors. Provide supporting documentation for depot AP/AR processing. Establish Maintenance and repair estimates and review for approval to vendors. Work with other departments and team members to resolve inquires and disputes. monitor emails, reply manage departmental email communications. Support AP/AR teams in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department, Assist with weekly payroll status.
This position will be responsible to:
- Manage depot staff and operational activities.
- Provide supporting documentation for depot AP/AR processing.
- Establish Maintenance and repair estimates and review for approval to vendors.
- Work with other departments and team members to resolve inquires and disputes, monitor and manage departmental email communications.
- Support AP/AR teams in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department.
- Assist with weekly payroll status.
- Knowledge of applicable safety policies and procedures.
- Escalation management.
- Miscellaneous related duties or projects as assigned.
Skill Sets / Education & Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma required.
- Functional level of analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills. (Verbal and written).
- Excellent phone etiquette and proven customer service abilities.
- Proficient computer skills to include basic Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook, Word, Internet Explorer)
- Detailed oriented with a strong work ethic and ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work in a team environment and independently
- Keep a clean workspace and follow required safety procedures and guidelines
- Knowledge of CEDEX repair codes.
- Knowledge of CMA-CGM container repair criteria, Trac Chassis FMCSA inspection requirements.
- Efficient with DS5 system and Newport System.
