Agency Operations Support Officer

The Role:

Liaises with port authorities regarding incoming vessel schedules, managing all requisite permits and documentation. Oversees port operations during vessel calls, including cargo loading, discharging, and transshipment. Provides comprehensive cargo support, ensuring seamless container handling in accordance with industry best practices and standard operating procedures, also officer reports to the Cluster Operations Manager providing updates and insights on port activities, therefore, this involves meticulous coordination and problem-solving to optimize efficiency and compliance throughout the entire port stay.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to operational / transhipment emails and complaints in a timely and professional manner,
  • Coordinating with terminal for berthing arrangements,
  • Closely monitoring of vessels under Horn of Africa cluster and update ETA/ETD to CSD, Transshipment, Logistics.
  • Prepare discharge / loading list for transhipment activities.
  • Maintain cargo allocation space received from cargo flow / ship manager.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency and productivity
  • Work as per set SOP of the operations department with goal to avoid unnecessary costs.
  • Coordinate with SSC on PCR creation within KPI time parameters.
  • Coordinating with habour master for husbandry operations – Crew handling / ship maintenance / repairs / equipment maintenance / bunker supply & Inspections.

 

 

Qualifications And Profile:

  • Knowledge of the legal and / or regulatory frame
  • Stock / Allocation management
  • Financial and economic knowledge
  • Equipment flow management
  • Abilty to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Excellent communication skills (Fluency in English / French is mandatory)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Valid driving licence is mandatory
  • Graduate (3 years regular course ) Any bachelor degree or Equivalent University Degree
  • Must have atleast 2-3 years of Industry experience in similar capacity and should have knowledge of the end to end process of Marine operations / Transhipment & Husbandry
