MISSION
You will prepare and coordinate the physical call of ships and you will be the interface between the Line, the ship, the local authorities, the harbour services and the handling.
RESPONSIBILITIES
You will insure the "husbanding" and inform the Captain about call documents he has to supply and on local regulations he has to comply with. You will handle specific requests related to the ship, to the crew and to the cargo (crew relieve, supplies, coordination of local partners for technical interventions) and you will order the harbour services (watchtower, piloting, towing, lamanage).
You will be the reelay for the Line and the Ship Planner, you will centralize the information related to the call and will order the cargo handling teams.
You will also ensure the administrative preparation of the call and collect export documents supplied by various partners in order to provide the Ship Planner with a final export file. You will send the loading list to the warehouseman and ensure the establishment of the comprehensive documentation.
Furthermore, you will inform the Harbor Master about dangerous cargos to be loaded and you will carry out a 24 hours/7 days basis follow-up for the vessel and the handling operations, before transmitting a regular reporting to the Lines on the progress of the call as well as the ETD (Estimate Time of Departure)..
Besides, you will establish a complete and detailed report (Port Call Report) and will check suppliers invoices for the shipowner (handling, piloting, etc.). You will also pay visits to the terminal (for customs inspections).
Finally, you will carry out statistics by port of loading and final destination on a weekly, monthly and annual basis.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
You have a postgraduate degree in Logistics/Transport, and a 6 months/1 year experience in a similar position. You have good communication skills in spoken and written English and good command of Office and computer tools.
You will be in contact both with the Company Departments (Booking, Logistics, Commercial, Cargo Flow, Line Operation) and with the authorities and harbor services, suppliers and crews. This position requires rigor, sense of organization and team spirit. You will have to pay visits to the port premises as well as work over night and/or weekend, depending on the ships calls.
