Procurement Manager

For the CMA CGM Europe Regional Office (ERO) in Hamburg we are recruiting a

 

Procurement Manager (m/f/d)

 

This position is responsible for optimising the cost base, insuring service quality and maintaining contract compliance across the transport and logistics categories for the European Regional Office scope.

Reporting to the Regional Head of Operations, the incumbent will be required to co-ordinate closely and collaborate effectively with procurement stakeholders in both the Head Office and the European Agency Network.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the HO Procurement team to operationalise their strategy and to further optimise the transport, logistics, depot and M&R spend categories around the European Region.
  • Insure the deployment of best in class tools, processes and governance in order to standardise and professionalise procurement in the Region.
  • Challenge the ILS Procurement teams to maximise value for money in intermodal and logistics purchasing.
  • Develop strategic vendor partnerships to create and benefit from cross-border opportunities.
  • Develop tender, negotiating and contracting strategies to support deflationary cost levels.
  • Identify and execute expansion opportunities for Group entities (CCIS, Ceva, Containerships) in order to internalise and reduce operating expenses.
  • Support the rollout of LISA functionality in order maximise the opportunities to standardise and automate our contracting and vendor payment processes.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce new vendors to markets with insufficient competitive pressures.
  • Develop collaboration with strategic vendors (providing services in multiple categories) across spend types to rationalise costs.
  • Improve contract compliance – insuring we get the benefit from our contracting with vendors but also insuring that we comply with our vendor allocations in daily execution.
  • Leverage new technology to create efficiencies in the procurement and execution processes.
  • Partner with vendors to create sustainable business solutions contributing to a reduction in our environmental impact.

Skills and Experience Requirements:

  • Extensive background in procurement of shipping, logistics or integrated transport services.
  • Evidence of strong procurement, negotiation and contract optimisation skills.
  • Knowledge of procurement, tendering and contracting software tools.
  • Strong inter-personal skills and ability to collaborate across cultures and organisational levels.
  • Results driven self-starter, able to spot opportunities and act decisively to deliver business benefit.
  • Well developed analytical skills with the ability to identify actions from streams of data.
  • Fluency in English is required, other major European languages are desirable.
