Vessel Operations Officer (f/m/d)

For our office in Hamburg we are recruiting a: Vessel Operations Officer (f/m/d)

 

Your responsibilities:

 

Prepare Call

  • Based on pre-planning concept agree, check and share berthing window / prospects and actual schedules (report through PRS & DBP) with Lines/Stakeholders
  • Order gangs/cranes and communicate call sequence (report through PRS)
  • Declare port & vessel clearance
  • Order and coordinate husbandry / stevedoring services (report through PRS)
  • Order and monitor supply and other services (e.g. cash to master, sludge…)
  • Order and monitor AGF permissions incl. establishing and maintaining a proper data base

 

Follow Vessel Operations

  • Provide cargo documentation to the vessel
  • Follow, order & coordinate services (husbandry & stevedoring incl. bunkering & departure) (report through PRS)
  • Follow, order & coordinate with husbandry agent all further vessel related services such as crew change, passenger assistance, vessel repairs
  • Generate Reports (using PRS)
  • Manage & monitor terminal services 
  • Coordinate vessel sailing
  • Alert Ops Management and Lines if any incident occurs 
  • Monitor & report terminal productivity and husbandry services
  • Boarding vessels as required, attend to safety issues on vessels and other specific matters as instructed

 

General

  • preparing / maintaining vessel / terminal related statistics as per management requirements 
  • Focal point for keeping further port related systems and documentations such as GAIA Terminal and Port Cards always up to date
  • handling projects as per management requirements
  • monitoring and reporting of KPI’s according to assigned scope 
  • Maintain a very close cooperation with other ops teams (Cargo operations as well as Transhipment), HO line ops teams, directly with the vessels command and related port vendors (husbandry agents, port & traffic authorities, HVCC)

 

Weekend Duty

  • Being a member of the vessel related weekend duty team

 
You bring aboard:

 

  • Certified shipping agent or degree in shipping and logistics
  • Experience with ocean Carrier or operating container terminal
  • Proficient user of computer systems, with the ability to utilize MS software applications in a Windows environment
  • Fluent proficiency in spoken and written German and English 
  • Excellent crisis management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and keep on deadlines
  • Ability to work with multiple departments and manage projects
  • Very good analytical skills
  • Ability to report and work with high volume of data/information
  • Ability to learn and adapt to changing environment
  • Solid knowledge of terminal and vessel operations
