THE ROLE | JOB PURPOSE

 

As our Inside Sales Account Manager, you will primarily manage sales activities for a defined customer segment, with the primary objective to increase volume and revenue in accordance with the UK commercial strategy and objectives.

 


MAIN RESPONSBILITIES

 

  • Participate in establishing the Commercial action plan and ensure the agency sales’ segmentation is correct and up to date in CRM
  • Proactively identify commercial market opportunities, to develop and grow our customer base
  • Plan and conduct regular commercial visits & customer calls, as per UK Agency Sales segmentation
  • Proactively promote CMA CGM Group Services and Non-Maritime products (e-commerce, VAS, intermodal, CEVA…) to new and existing customers.
  • Create opportunities and record client potential, ensuring CRM is fully updated with all client interactions 
  • Update CRM with all relevant information, i.e. commercial data and customer feedback
  • Proactively organise and manage agenda of relevant client visits & calls, (i.e. minimum 1-week lead time)  
  • Identify and pursue new business Leads, sharing with appropriate colleagues within the Group where relevant
  • Work collaboratively with other Sales Managers and colleagues, to review and identify and pursue new business leads and opportunities
  • Work collaboratively with Sales Support colleagues, e.g. relay pricing requests and any other relevant requests or customer information
  • Relay other requests from customers to colleagues where necessary, e.g. Customer Care teams
  • Contribute to development and overall growth in market share and revenue in accordance with the commercial strategy
  • Management of customer credit facilities
  • Update Agency Trade Manager with Market rates/ Information as required

 


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • Demonstrable experience in a Sales / Sales Coordination environment (Shipping sector experience would be great, but is by no means essential)
  • Excellent Customer Service skills, with the ability to build rapport and provide a proactive and solutions-focused service
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to spot trends and proactively identify new business opportunities
  • Excellent communication skills, with demonstrable experience of building effective relationships at all levels, both internally and externally;   
  • A resilient approach, able to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • A natural problem solver, with the ability to identify root-cause of issues and see through to a successful resolution
  • Flexibility in your approach, able to respond positively and proactively to differing customer requirements
