MISSION

 

The Specialised Sales Manager role is a key position within the Commercial organisation, overseeing a team of 4 internal and external sales staff focusing on Reefers, Breakbulk, Large OOG, Class 1, MOD and Humanitarian volumes.

 

The role is accountable for sales performance with the intention to achieve, develop and drive sales performance and increase the market share of the UK Agency.  You will identify all development opportunities, exploit appropriate emerging markets and engage the sales teams in order to develop the client portfolio. 

 

The Special Sales Manager will represent the Group’s business interests and develop direct relationships with key customers of the UK Agency.  

 

STRATEGY

 

  • Be an active participant in UK strategy formulation and implementation

  • Cascade commercial strategy in line with the overall company’s strategy and budget, laid out by Commercial Director

  • Actively promotes new products and innovations

  • Ensures specific sales function is aligned to meet its strategic commercial objectives

  • Facilitate market penetration and sales growth with a particular emphasis on cost-effective customer acquisition and market demand generation

 

RELATIONSHIPS

 

  • Nurture head office relationships to ensure the sales team is best placed to succeed

  • Interacts and communicates with key operating partners, colleagues, and partnerships in the UK and beyond to ensure common understanding and clear ownership of sales performance and business development

  • Lead, engage, and inspire in customer meetings and activities

  • Mentor and motivate the sales team to maximise performance and assist with the personal growth of all team members

 

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

 

  • Originate and manage business development opportunities that are consistent with the company’s strategy for revenue growth

  • Collaborate with senior commercial team to contribute towards creating new products

  • Engenders collaborative relationships with CEVA for the purposes of achieving UK Agency goals

 

PROCESS

 

  • Executes the agreed pricing policy throughout the Sales team

  • Ensure key performance measures of sales are adhered too

  • Proposes and monitors the implementation of sales targets for the respective team

  • Ensures team is fully compliant with HO sales policies

  • Analyses and proposes new products and markets 

  • Participates in any Group special projects and identifies at any opportunity any UK beneficial projects to ensure a culture of continuous improvement

  • Ensure best practice as well as achieving both budgetary and time targets set by the Commercial Director/HO

  • To be accountable for resource planning in own function

PROFILE AND REQUIRED SKILLS

 

  • Understanding of macroeconomic and industry trends in the UK agency markets

  • At least eight to ten years of experience in senior sales roles

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Demonstrate leadership skills

  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills. 

  • High level of personal integrity

  • Willingness to travel

 

PRACTICAL AND TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

 

  • Worked in the Shipping/Logistics industry for at least eight to ten years 

  • Knowledge of UK marketplace, including different sales verticals
