THE ROLE 

 

 

As part of the Group Purchasing Department, the Senior Indirect Buyer (general services and support functions) manages and coordinates purchasing within his/her area of responsibility, which may include property and works purchasing, communication, general services, safety and security, services, training, CSR and human resources.

 

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

 

  • Participating in the development of purchasing strategies based on the company's needs and objectives, in consultation with internal customers.
  • Evaluating and shortlisting the best suppliers for your purchasing family, including supplier qualification.
  • Organising and managing tenders, conducting negotiations with suppliers and drawing up contracts.
  • Participating in the development of the purchasing department by taking responsibility for certain cross-functional actions (KPI management, continuous improvement, communication & promotion of the department, development of the purchasing perimeter).
  • Monitoring contracts and subcontracting in collaboration with the specifiers. 
  • Managing and identifying risks and opportunities relating to suppliers and markets.
  • Playing an active role in the cost reduction and transformation plan, in particular by managing relations with suppliers and implementing areas for improvement with a view to optimising the total cost of ownership.
  • Helping to rationalise, secure and industrialise processes, methods and tools (SRM) with a view to improving overall performance.
  • Helping to establish a Purchasing culture and ensure that Purchasing is recognised as a genuine value-creating partner.
  • Adapting to operational emergencies relating to the Indirect Purchasing perimeter brought in by management.
     

 

 

PROFILE AND QUALIFICATIONS

 

 

  • With 5 or 3 years' higher education in purchasing, you will have at least 8 years' experience in indirect purchasing.
  • Working in an international and multicultural environment, your English will enable you to communicate both orally and in writing with all your contacts, and you will have a good command of IT and office automation tools.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and an appetite for negotiation, with the ability to develop solid relationships with all stakeholders (internal customers, suppliers).
  • Strong operational autonomy and initial experience in cross-functional activity management (KPIs, operational improvements) would be a plus.
  • You are results-oriented, innovative in your search for solutions and highly autonomous in the day-to-day management of your assignments.
  • Agile, curious and collaborative, you know how to adapt to changing strategies and challenges.
