Apprenticeship - International & Aviation Tax

THE ROLE :


As part of the Group's Tax Department, you will work in a team of eight people, both at head office and in the regions, who are in charge of tax management of the CMA CGM Group's worldwide network of subsidiaries.

Reporting to the Global Tax Coordinator of this network, you will also be involved in the Group's new Air Cargo division, again from a tax perspective.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

 

You will be involved in a variety of tax assignments, focusing on the following areas:

 

  • Assistance with international tax audits
    • Discussions with local teams and understanding of tax issues
    • Analysis of applicable local tax legislation and the appropriateness of the proposed reassessment
    • Review of responses to notifications and other procedural documents

 

  • Airline taxation
    • Research into the airline division's operational activity
    • Implementation and tax monitoring of commercial partnerships

 

  • Tax coordination
    • Assistance and advice to the various Group agencies
    • Implementation and monitoring of CMA CGM Group tax policies
    • Drafting tax memos and undertaking technical research
    • Review of tax clauses in contracts that may be entered into by agencies

 

  • Tax watch
    • Monitoring tax news and helping to implement any changes in legislation and/or case law

 

Your main contacts will be the members of the tax team and the regional or agencies Chief Financial Officers.

 

 

PROFILE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

 

 

  • You are currently studying for a Master's degree with a major in Tax and/or at a law school with a solid grounding in international taxation, and have completed a first internship within an international company and/or a law firm specialising in corporate taxation.
  • You speak fluent English and are comfortable working with figures (Excel, etc.).
  • Curiosity and an appetite for discovering the tax systems applicable throughout the world
  • Rigour, a methodical and organised profile, you ensure the quality and reliability of the information you gather
  • A good team spirit
  • Good communication skills, ability to listen and provide advice
  • Ability to analyse and summarise, and good writing skills
  • Proactivity and a willingness to understand operational issues
