Apprenticeship - Port Equipment Engineer

CMATH is a port operator used to develop, design, build, own and operate terminals and dry docks. It welcomes CMA CGM lines but also invites all shipping companies to develop terminals and offer a top quality service.

 

 

THE ROLE


You will be part of the Technical Department, with specific focus on assisting terminals and project teams for the maintenance, procurement and improvement of handling equipment in CMA CGM Group terminals.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES


The key elements to the role are:

  • Issuance of technical specifications for new equipment
  • Assistance to Procurement team for procurement process and bid evaluation
  • Benchmark and qualification of new technologies to optimize terminal equipment efficiency, safety and performances
  • Set up and manage Proof of Concept of new systems (anticollision systems, driver assistance, etc.) on terminals
  • Benchmark of preventive and predictive maintenance programs for container handling equipment within CMA Terminals
  • Perform cost/performance analysis and comparison of equipment maintenance
  • Technical support to CMATH projects and CMA CGM Group terminals on equipment issues
  • Conducting technical audits on site
  • Promoting and implementing best working practices
  • Coordination with SSE team

 

 

PROFILE & COMPETENCIES

 

  • Engineering Degree, crossed cultural awareness and general knowledge of an industrial environment required
  • Capaicty to write technical specification and propose innovative solutions while challenging the terminal
  • Ability to assess the return on investment of technical solutions
  • Willing to work on a project mode within a team
  • Being organized, anticipating obstacles and strategies
  • Good communication
  • Fluent in English, both spoken & written. A good level of French will be highly appreciated
