This announcement is designed to further strengthen CMA CGM Group capacity to identify talent for Area Manager positions in France near future opportunities. 

 

CONTEXT AND ROLE :

 

More than 90% of world trade is carried by sea. Everyday, we transport huge quantities of goods on more than 200 shipping routes. 
At the heart of the shipping line, the Area Manager will optimize the pricing policy of the geographical area and will be the main contact for agents around the world.

Within the Lines Department, you will ensure and optimize the loading capacity of vessels in a specific area. Under the supervision of the Line Management, you will apply the trade and pricing policy in a specific area and deal with quote requests from agents and clients. 

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES :

 

As a key coordinator for the Maritime Line, your commitments are: 

  • Ensure the Line pricing policy is applied by agents
  • Process all requests for quotations from your agents
  • Optimize budget results and the loading capacity of vessels
  • Ensure a marketing follow-up as an expert of your area
  • Draw up market research, statistics and regularly communicate Key Performance Indicators to the Line Management
  • Make a competitive intelligence and give recommendations 
  • Participate in the definition of boarding priorities
  • Help drawing up the sales budget under the supervision of the Trade Manager and Line Manager and analyze budget results and variances in order to propose corrective actions. 

 

 

PROFILE AND QUALIFICATIONS :

 

  • You have a postgraduate degree (5 years) in Business, Logistic or Transport with a first experience in business or marketing activities, at least two years (ideally in a shipping environment).
  • You are fluent in English and you have good command of computer and Office tools (especially Excel). 
  • You are organized and self-reliant, with entrepreneurship skills.
  • Your interpersonal skills, a good sense of communication, and your team spirit make you succeed in your mission.
